It can be challenging to work with a co-worker in close quarters. In my previous job, I was the only nutritionist on the floor. Now I work in the very same room as two other co-teachers. Sometimes what they do perturbs me. But a thought that helps me regain perspective and mitigate the resentment is that I am not perfect either. And I know if I were working with a carbon copy of myself, I would bother me too!
Working with others is just inherently challenging. It’s part of being human. We all have a sense of what we want and how we want to do things. I think the ability to collaborate, while barely discussed in my high school and college education, is one of the most important qualities to cultivate in our professional, as well as personal, lives.
