Squirrels in Nature

Last Sunday morning started off with me anxiously getting as much reading about emergent curriculum done as possible. Which is ironic, since a main point of emergent curriculum is to observe mindfully and feel the richness that life has to offer—while rushing to get things done feels the exact opposite.

After a morning of anxiety, I felt so present watching these two squirrels quarreling in a tree.

What gives nature the power to stop us in our tracks and slow down?

Maybe it’s the mystery of nature, the infinite depth that it holds, that keeps us living in the moment and just taking it in. One breath at a time.
