I heard someone on the radio ask recently, “Why in 2021 do we still wait 20 minutes for our oven to warm up?!”
My response was,
“Cmon!—
We need something to remind us to slow down.
I mean I don’t like waiting but then again the present is where reality is.
It’s how we access the eternal
It’s where our soul resides
So yeah, I’m ok having some things take time!
Otherwise how disconnected will I get from my soul? From my breath?
Instant gratification is lovely but it removes us from the work of life
So yeah, I’m ok with an oven taking time to warm up
