Children: Masters of Living in the Moment

While young children have a lot to learn when it comes to self-regulation, delaying gratification, and how to use a toilet, there are things that they teach us. These include, but are not limited to:

-Curiosity

-Joy

-Living in the present moment

As I related in my previous post, the challenge of setting aside our technology to connect more wholly with our children is less daunting when one realizes that children themselves inherently master the art of living in the moment. So the discomfort of having to instantly drop what you are doing, put your phone down, and focus on your child is alleviated by your child, who greets you with their sweet chatter and inquisitive nature. Their world is rich and they are inviting you into it—readily accept their offer!
