I had found the perfect playlist for teaching my weekly yoga sessions. That meant that I didn’t want to listen to it for my own yoga practice anymore—I didn’t want it to get stale. I enjoyed other songs by the same artist, but I missed listening to those songs.
Then I reminded myself a few weeks later that I am my client too. I can use the playlist for my own yoga sessions. Just as I am using my expertise and training to teach others, I also use them to guide myself in my own yoga practice. And so too, just as I am patient and compassionate with my clients, so too can I channel that calming, kind energy to myself.
