Yesterday was special for another reason besides getting my own swim lane. Our water was shut off in the morning due to a water pipe leak next door. It reminded not to take water or showers for granted. I was also reminded not to take towels for granted, since I forgot mine when I went to shower at my gym.
This whole hullabaloo gave a hectic start to my day, but it was a cool experience to see the hole in my neighbor’s lawn and watch water spurt out and gush down the street. (I felt bad for them, but I wanted to take a look, nonetheless—it felt historical.) I was especially grateful to speak to the workers themselves as they explained to me exactly what had happened.
