This morning, unlike the previous two days, I got my own lane. Not only that, there was only one other person in the pool and some of the time I was the ONLY one!
I loved having my own lane: being able to swim in the center of the lane, directly over the blue tile stripe that is twelve tiles wide and goes down each lane (I counted today, to be accurate in this blog!).
I felt like it was G-d’s way of saying, “I got you!” Of telling me even though I don’t ALWAYS get my own lane, sometimes I will. To be open to the times I don’t get my way, but also open to the times that I do: to maintain an open, hopeful heart, even when things don’t always work out. And to appreciate the times when things do work out and not take them for granted.
