Just had another fulfilling nutrition session. As I was counseling the client, a prayer popped into my head: that my own daughter find a career as fulfilling as I find mine.
I am ever so grateful for my journey of following in my father’s footsteps and becoming a health and wellness professional. I am doing what I set out to do, under his guidance and inspiration (and my mom’s encouragement and guidance as well) and it feels so right.
He is no longer with me. Hasn’t been for 15 years, but I carry him in my career on a daily, even hourly basis.
Alas, I am in my mid-thirties. I still have a long ways to go, with G-d’s help, but for some reason my mind jumped to the generativity stage that moment during my session and I prayed that my own daughter find her unique, true path just as I feel I’ve found mine.
