Doing all the hard work
Day in and day out
Feeding them, bathing them,
Giving them structure
Getting them to bed
Waking them up
Chauffeuring them around
Being a listening ear when they need one
If there is no magic in the mundane
Then what do we make of all this?
I’m starting to see why they compare parents to G-d
It is said that G-d’s will sustains even a single blade of grass
We are sustainers of life
But we are not G-d
And we need self-care and nourishment
To properly perform our role
